Germany: Red Cabbage with Apples
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 5 cups shredded red cabbage
  • 1 C. sliced green apples
  • ⅓ C. apple cider vinegar
  • 3 Tbsp. water
  • ¼ C. sugar
  • 2¼ tsp. salt
  • ¼ tsp. pepper
  • ¼ tsp. ground cloves
  1. In a large pot, add all the ingredients and bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Cover and reduce heat to low. Simmer 1-1½ hours until tender.
